Stand in front of UN Office Confirms Deterioration of Food Sources
The Agriculture and Irrigation Office in the Capital Sana’a held the United Nations, US and Saudi- led coalition fully responsible for the repercussions of the continued detention of oil derivatives ships on vital sectors, especially agriculture, which represents a source of food security.
The office in cooperation with the Yemen Oil Company staged a vigil in front of the UN in the capital Sana’a on Tuesday in which participants called on the international community and humanitarian and human rights organizations to pressure the forces of the “US-led aggression” to allow the entry of fuel ships to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe, according to Saba news agency.
The office warned of the catastrophic consequences for the agricultural sector and the humanitarian situation in Yemen in general as a result of the continued detention of fuel ships and the prevention of their entry to the port of Hodeida.
It stressed that maritime piracy on oil derivatives ships led to the deterioration of food security sources, the decline of most agricultural areas, the decline in productivity and the doubling of the suffering of farmers.
