Aid to More than 35,000 Families Affected by Floods: Sana’a
Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in Sana’a Ibrahim Al-Hamli announced the disbursement of aid to more than 35,000 families affected by the floods in several provinces.
Al-Hamali said in a statement to Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that he visited a number of districts affected by the floods in Al-Jawf, Hajjah, Sa’ada and Al-Mahwit, and reviewed the needs of service projects.
He confirmed the disbursement of aid to more than 35,633 families, 85% of the affected families, in coordination with humanitarian partners.
The Secretary-General of the Council indicated that 575 million and 276 thousand riyals were distributed in cash assistance to more than 7 thousand and 82 families, while emergency, shelter, houses and tents assistance were distributed to nearly 30 thousand families.
Al-Hamali stated that the council worked to direct funds towards implementing development and service projects to contribute to alleviating human suffering, noting that the project to rehabilitate the main sewage carrier in Sana’a liquid had begun, through the United Nations Office for Project Services “UNOPS”, at a cost of 6 million and 400 million. one thousand dollars.
