Al-Houthi: EU Statement Absurd, Only Legitimizes the International Criminality
Mohammad Ali al-Houthi, Member of the Supreme Political Council (SPC), the highest ruling authority in Sana’a has reacted to the European Union (EU)’s statements regarding Sana’a government’s demands of paying salaries of the state employees in order to extend the truce in Yemen.
“The statements of the European Union and others are absurd and only legitimated the international criminality,” Mohammed al-Houthi said in a tweet on his Twitter account.
He added: “Paying of salaries and lifting of the siege are legitimate rights and their rejection are double and organized terrorism. It is condemned.”
Al-Houthi confirmed what the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT) has said in its report, in which states that “The blockade imposed on Yemen by a Saudi-led coalition has substantially contributed to pushing Yemeni civilians into starvation and can be considered torture.”
“The US Department of State and the European Union should read the report,” he said.
