Disagreements between Sana’a and Washington Blow up Negotiations to Extend Armistice
Sana’a revealed on Tuesday, a new point of contention that was the reason for the efforts failure to extend the armistice in Yemen.
Deputy Director of the Moral Guidance Department, Brigadier Abdullah Amer, said in a tweet on social media that the Americans are trying to maintain the siege as a tool of subjugation and pressure that will continue indefinitely. He described what is going on behind the scenes as “fierce confrontations.”
Bin Amer indicated that the Yemeni people will not accept anything less than lifting the siege completely and permanently as a real stakeholder.
Media reports had earlier confirmed progress in the armistice extension negotiations file with the approval of regional parties to pay salaries, including those of the military, but the dispute over the siege brought the discussions back to ground zero.
Americans’ deploying new points is an attempt to prolong the conflict in Yemen in order to continue blackmailing Saudi Arabia especially in light of its efforts for rapprochement with the eastern camp led by Russia.
