Turkish Weapons for Yemeni Muslim Brotherhood to Confront STC in Hadhramout
The Islah party, (the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood), has received military support believed to be from Turkey in conjunction with the escalation of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia’s mobilization in Hadhramout province.
Activists on social media circulated pictures of one of the “Islah” recruits carrying an anti-drone electronic rifle.
According to YPC, it seems that the aim of obtaining these electronic rifles is not to repeat what happened in Shabwa province in southern Yemen, when Emirati drones launched a series of raids on the sites and gatherings of the “Islah” forces.
The UAE strikes left heavy casualties in the rink of the Islah militants and led to the collapse of their forces in the face of attacks carried out by the UAE-backed militias.
However, specialists confirmed that electronic guns are intended for small drones and are unable to deal with advanced drones.
This comes in light of the STC’s mobilization of its forces to attack the first military region loyal to “Islah” in the districts of Wadi Hadhramout, with the aim of overthrowing and taking controlling over it.
