Russia Warns Against Obstructing Access of Basic Goods, Humanitarian Aid to Yemen
Moscow has warned against obstructing the delivery of basic goods and humanitarian aid to the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen, on which the Yemeni people depend for 90% of their needs.
Dmitry Polyanskiy, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, said during his speech at a UN Security Council session on Yemen, that the provision of basic goods to Yemenis must continue without any restrictions.
“Any restrictions on the supply of essential goods and humanitarian aid are unacceptable.”
He stressed that “the solution in Yemen is a political, not a military, calling for continuing efforts to reach a political settlement in Yemen.
