Revelation of Devastating Weapon Used by Saudi Arabia in Yemen War
Activists have published a picture of the internationally-banned American bombs, which America supplied to the Saudi-led coalition and used by Riyadh in its war against Yemen.
It is the “gbu” bombs, which weighs a ton and a half, and the coalition aircraft dropped them on a number of Yemeni provinces, including Saada, Sana’a and Hajjah province.
According to Yemen press agency, the coalition warplanes targeted the equestrian club with the same bombs in Sanaa, which resulted in the birth of five congenital deformed fetal horses, and these bombs hit Mastaba market in Hajjah.
The bombs of GBU_31 (JDAM) type also was dropped on the neighborhoods of Nuqm area in Sanaa, Al-Honud neighborhood in Hodeida, and the Yemeni International Company for Food Industries in Al-Salif port. This bomb is considered the most dangerous after the nuclear bomb.
The JDAM bombs are directed by satellites and by the inertial navigation system and they are American-made and carry a warhead that weighs 945 tons.
The Executive Center for Mine Action revealed that the bomb used by the Saudi-led coalition to bomb the Hodeida Electricity Corporation is an American satellite-guided bomb of JDAM type, which is internationally banned because it contains uranium.
The center said in a statement that, “After examining the special parts and pieces, parts of which were found at the targeted site, the results showed that the weapon used was an American bomb of a JDAM GBU-31 type that targeted a fuel station at dawn on March 27.”
The bomb led to the complete destruction of the company and the destruction of all its departments, equipment and devices, and there were deaths and injuries among the engineers working in it, according to the center.
The JDAM bomb is manufactured by the “Boeing” Company, an American multinational corporation that manufactures aircraft, aerospace industries, and defense industries, and the “WOODWARD Inc.” company, which is an American manufacturer of components for guidance and control systems for leprosy bombs.
The American bomb penetrates fortifications and has the ability to penetrate up to four meters of reinforced concrete, and its temperature at its explosion reaches from 2800-3500 degrees Celsius, and this is the goal in the bombing of the Hodeida power station with a JDAM GBU-31 bomb.
The bomb is capable of carrying high explosives weighing up to 23 kilo grams made of AFX-757 and its total weight is 129 kilo grams.
