STC Shells Islah Positions in Shabwa
The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias shelled military sites belonging to Islah militants in Yemen’s eastern Shabwa province.
Local media reported that the artillery units of STC bombed new sites for Islah militants the Areen area of Arma district with a number of mortar shells after they had taken control of a military checkpoint in the same area.
The Islah forces had established a camp in the Areen area in agreement with the Saudi side after the “STC” militias took control of the province last August.
Units of Islah militias are still stationed in Arma district, after UAE-affiliated militias took control of the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, last August after clashes during which Islah sites were bombed by Emirati drones.
