UNESCO Inscribes Landmarks of Ancient Kingdom of Saba in Marib on World Heritage List
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has inscribed the site Landmarks of the Ancient Kingdom of Saba, Marib, Yemen on the World Heritage List.
The site has been also listed on the World Heritage in Danger in order to raise international awareness of its importance and accelerate the processes of its protection and preservation.
The site consists of seven main parts that testify to the architectural richness of the Kingdom of Sheba and the technologies it achieved from the first millennium BC until the beginning of the Islamic era around 630 AD.
