Sana’a Defense Minister Calls on Coalition to Seize Opportunity Given by Houthis Leader
Defense minister of Sana’a, Major General Muhammad Nasser Al-Atefi, warned on Saturday, the Saudi-Emirati coalition against continuing its war and siege on Yemen.
He called on them to seize the opportunity given to them by the leader of “Anssarallah movement,” Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, before it is too late.
Major General Al-Atifi said, during an event organized by Defense and Chief of Staff, to commemorate “the anniversary of the martyr leader,” that Sana’a forces have set their feet on the right path, and the patience and steadfastness of the people and their army will not go to waste, but rather yielded victory, pride and dignity, according to Saba agency.
Sana’a Defense minister confirmed ” they now possess the sovereign decision and in their hands are “the successful means and methods and the sincere will of faith that provides us to always be free and independent after getting rid of the methods of dependence that prevailed in previous periods.”
Yesterday, the leader of “Anssarallah Movement,” Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, warned the Saudi-Emirati coalition against procrastination and taking advantage of the time granted by Sana’a for negotiations, stressing that the situation is a state of war and that what happened is a de-escalation only while the war continues.
Al-Houthi said in a televised speech that Sana’a gives the Omani mediation many opportunities for the success of its endeavors. Noting that the humanitarian file cannot be ignored or tolerated and lost as a priority to the detriment of any other priority, stressing, “When we give time to negotiations and dialogues, this does not mean that we will continue indefinitely.”
Addressing the coalition, he added: We send warning and advice together to the countries of coalition, our patience will run out if you do not initiate a serious and practical understanding in the humanitarian and livelihood file, indicating that time may run out and we will return to pressing options to obtain our people’s right to their wealth.
