Sana’a – Saba:

After being abducted from his job in Al-Houta city, Lahj province, last week, the Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms has denounced the crime of assault on Yemeni citizen Mohammed Jamal Ahmed Shahab.

In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the organization stated that it had closely followed the assault of citizen Shahab, a 31-year-old resident of Al-Houta city in the Lahj province, after he was abducted from his place of employment and tortured to death in one of the prisons operated by the so-called Transitional Council in Lahj.

It affirmed its condemnation of all abuse and related crimes that violate the human rights of civilian citizens.

The organization called on the international community and the United Nations to exert pressure on the de facto authorities in the southern provinces to prevent the recurrence of such grave violations against civilians and hold the perpetrators accountable.
