American confession of an attack targeting a battleship in Yemen
The US admitted on Wednesday a new attack on one of its battleships in Yemen.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The attack was carried out by a drone and targeted the battleship USS Mason, according to the US Department of Defense.
The US announcement coincided with reports of the targeting of cargo and fuel ships that were headed to Israeli ports.
The two most notable ships that were declared to be targeted were one ship flying the Marshall Islands flag and a Malta-flagged.
The two ships were intercepted by fast boats off the Hudaydah ports, demanding they change course. However, the US battleships instructed them to continue heading towards Israeli ports, according to a previous statement from the British Maritime Trade Organization.
The attacks in the Red Sea come in parallel to reports of a similar attack in the Arabian Sea.
Experts confirm that these operations, even though Sana’a has not formally taken responsibility for them, are a part of an economic strangling strategy against Israeli occupation. Sana’a adopted this strategy months ago and has been implementing it in stages, starting with attacking Israeli cities on the Red Sea and going as far as to ban the passage of ships heading to the occupation ports.
