A missile targets a Maersk container ship in the southern Red Sea… Documents reveal its destination
The US Central Command announced that the Maersk Hangzhou container ship was targeted by a missile while crossing the southern Red Sea and requested assistance.

According to a statement by the US forces, two ballistic missiles were shot down, launched from areas controlled by the Houthi, in response to the movement of two American ships towards the incident location.
Maersk, the Danish company, had previously announced its intention to resume sailing through the Red Sea under the protection of the alliance formed by the US to safeguard ships heading to Israel.
Sana’a hasn’t issued any comment regarding the operation so far.
The PORT2PORT website indicates that the Maersk Hangzhou ship was heading towards an Israeli port and was expected to arrive on January 4, 2024.
