Sana’a Foreign Ministry’s statement came in response to what the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel-Ati, affirmed during his recent visit to the US.
The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry and Expatriates, Ambassador Waheed Al-Shami, emphasized the Republic of Yemen’s keenness to protect navigation in the Red Sea and the importance of cooperation among littoral states on this important file in a way that achieves security for the Red Sea and the rights of littoral states in the economic domain away from any foreign interventions.
He explained that the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea is a result of American arrogance and the bias of a number of Western countries in favor of the Zionist enemy, despite the genocide crimes it commits against the people of Gaza, and the rejection of these countries of Sana’a’s fair equation of stopping the war and allowing food and medicine into the Strip in exchange for ending the siege on the usurping entity by targeting cargo ships heading to the occupied Palestinian ports or those linked to it.
