On the eve of the largest maneuver in Sana’a, a Saudi summons for the leaders of the West Coast factions in Yemen
Saudi Arabia summoned yesterday the leaders of the factions loyal to the UAE in the West Coast of Yemen.
This coincides with movements indicating a military escalation led by the US amid Saudi fears of a situation explosion.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Saudi media outlets reported that the leaders of the factions stationed on the West Coast of Yemen, headed by Tariq Saleh, arrived in Riyadh, where they met with the commander of the Joint Forces of the coalition, Fahd bin Hamad Al-Salman.
The meeting also included the commander of what is known as the Hudaydah Axis loyal to Saudi Arabia and the Ninth Giants Brigade, Yahya Al-Wahishi.
Sources reported that Salman informed Tariq of his country’s commitment to support Yemen in achieving peace and stability, indicating its rejection of any new escalation steps.
The Saudi summons came amid escalating tensions in the Red Sea with American attempts to mobilize Yemeni factions stationed on the southern tip of the West Coast of Yemen and supported by the UAE. Sana’a responded to these movements with maneuvers in the Red Sea, which are the largest.
Saudi Arabia fears the expansion of the conflict in the Red Sea, which could threaten its most important oil export routes abroad.
Saudi Arabia has previously announced its rejection of escalation in the Red Sea and is trying to contain it diplomatically.
The Saudi move indicates Riyadh’s unwillingness to be dragged again by America into the quagmire of the war that lasted for years and ended in a humiliating defeat for it.
