Daily Saudi executions of Yemenis on the border
Saudi Arabia’s attempts to exploit the Hadramout incident for political purposes sparked angry reactions in Yemeni circles, including activists on social media residing abroad.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
One of the most prominent reactions shared by social media activists is the circulation of video clips depicting crimes committed almost daily by the Saudi army against unarmed Yemenis on the border.
One of the clips shows the moment when Saudi border guards arrested young men attempting to cross the border for work, seized their money and documents, and forced them to return to Yemeni territory before randomly opening fire towards them.
The video confirms the deaths of 10 Yemenis during that operation.
This operation is one in a series of daily operations carried out by Saudi forces on the border against young Yemenis who are stranded in a country under Saudi war and siege for nearly 10 years. An agreement signed decades ago by Yemen and Saudi Arabia, known as the Taif Agreement, grants them the freedom to cross the border and even work without a visa.
Although these crimes have not received media coverage due to their occurrence in remote and heavily Saudi-guarded areas, publishing some of them is a response to Saudi Arabia’s attempt to exploit the killing of two officers by a recruit in its ranks, which aroused the anger and contempt of Saudi officers during training.
