The countdown begins for the evacuation of the most important American bases in the Red Sea
From off the Sudanese coasts, about 300 km from Yemen, to off the Saudi coasts, about 800 miles away, the American aircraft carrier has begun its return journey to its home country. Will it succeed in escaping, or are there plans this time to sink it?
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
A few days ago, this battleship, with its fleet of destroyers, submarines, and fighter jets, made its way through the Suez Canal and was part of America’s new plans to take revenge for the Israeli occupation, whose capital is now reeling under the weight of the deadly Yemeni missile strikes.
The plan was to use “Truman” as an advanced launching base, and it actually gave the occupation the opportunity to carry out the first attack, including bombing the Yemeni capital Sanaa for the first time. However, the distance of the carrier increased the logistical burdens of the occupation, and its attack did not achieve any success after it targeted oil barrels belonging to the government’s power stations in the south and north of the Yemeni capital.
Of course, the occupation and, behind it, America were preparing for a larger attack than just targeting civilian facilities that had been subjected to dozens of raids over the past years, and the operation was described as “the greatest.” However, it seems that the occupation, and even America, failed to achieve this goal, which prompted them to bring “Truman” closer to Yemen, until it became only a few hundred kilometers away.
While the American forces were preparing to launch a new attack, they were surprised by the missiles and drones in their own territory, which led to them suffering heavy losses; the most prominent of these was the downing of an F-18 aircraft, in addition to significant undisclosed damages.
The scenario that “Truman” was exposed to is somewhat similar to that which befell the aircraft carrier “Eisenhower” during its deployment in the Red Sea, where it was gradually withdrawn to the port of Jeddah, where a quick maintenance was carried out for it, as shown in the images leaked by Russian and Chinese intelligence before its return journey to its country, broken and damaged as well, and it is still undergoing maintenance until this moment.
Unlike Eisenhower, which did not lose any of its crew, the attack on “Truman” was notable for the fall of a pilot and his assistant, and this reflects a remarkable development in the course of the confrontation between Yemen and the American forces, not to mention that “Truman” was originally out of service before its reactivation in 2020, which indicates that only one more blow would be enough to sink it.
