A new study by the Israeli National Security Institute recommended enhancing intelligence cooperation with Gulf countries, especially the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as part of confronting the challenges posed by the Houthi organization in Yemen. The study emphasized that these countries could provide important intelligence support in the war against the Houthis, despite the difficulties that hinder direct action against them.

The study explained that despite the challenges that may accompany the process of toppling the Houthi regime in Yemen, this mission will be inevitable in the future. The study also addressed the role of the forces in southern Yemen, which rely on Saudi and Emirati support, and which could bear the responsibility of running the country in the event of the collapse of the Houthi regime, despite the existing differences between them regarding the unification of Yemen.

In the long run, the study predicted that waging an effective battle against the Houthis would serve the strategic interests of Israel, especially with Gulf countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, who see the Houthis as a real threat.

According to the study, this battle may also contribute to reopening the maritime straits to ship movement to “Israel” to strengthen “regional security.”

The Israeli study also recommended the need to follow a continuous and long-term strategy against the “Houthis” in Yemen, whether the movement launches attacks against Israel or not, stressing the need to intensify efforts against the Houthis, even in the absence of direct attacks on “Israel,” while stressing the necessity that the movement and its members be in a state of constant defense.
