Sana’a warns Washington: Any economic measures against Yemen will be considered a declaration of war
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
Mohammed Miftah, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Change and Building Government in Sana’a, warned on Sunday against any American measures targeting the livelihood and economic stability of the Yemeni people, stressing that “any step of this kind will be considered a declaration of war and will be responded to with all force.”
During a speech he delivered on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Saleh Al-Sammad, Miftah emphasized that “the American must understand this message well,” noting that Washington has practiced all forms of aggression against Yemen, from bombardment to siege, but has failed to subdue it.
He added that former US President Donald Trump tightened the noose on Yemen during his previous term (2016-2020), affirming that Sana’a will face any new American conspiracies with its unity and steadfastness and will not allow Washington’s schemes to pass.
This comes amid escalating fears of retaliatory American economic measures against Sana’a, after the failure of military pressures, especially in the aftermath of Yemen’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian resistance and targeting the ports and ships of the Israeli occupation.
Washington had responded to the Yemeni operations by forming the so-called “Prosperity Alliance” under the pretext of “protecting international navigation,” before launching a military aggression on Yemen with Britain and the participation of “Israel,” which also targeted Yemeni territories.
Nevertheless, Sana’a has maintained its firm position in supporting Gaza and has not retreated, warning today that Washington may resort to its economic tools after its military failure, but any move in this direction will not pass without a response.
