The child prisoner (M.W.) recounts how he had to remove sutures from his teeth with the help of his colleagues in Ofer prison, after the prison administration refused to provide him with treatment. He repeatedly demanded that the stitches be removed, but the prison administration’s negligence led him to use rudimentary methods to remove them.
The prisoner child says in his testimony quoted by the lawyers of the Prisoners’ Club: “When I was arrested, I was in the stage of treatment for my teeth, and I asked many times from the prison administration to remove the stitches after a period of time, without a response, so I did it myself with the help of the children.”
This incident and other testimonies collected by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club last January reflect how the occupation prison system continues to carry out systematic violations against Palestinian prisoners, amid harsh conditions and brutal treatment, where prisoners suffer from torture, medical negligence, and deliberate starvation, which makes prisons an extension of the war and aggression against the Palestinian people.
The prisoner (A.D.) from Ofer prison said that the frequency of raids, assaults, and repression of the sections continues, and has recently increased, using police dogs and stun grenades during raids. This is confirmed by the prisoner(T.B.),as the prison administrationpracticesrepeatedhumiliationandabuseagainstprisoners, anddeliberatelystrikesbombsinside the sections.
