Sana’a | The Antiquities Authority condemns the destruction of a historic castle by American airstrikes
The Antiquities Authority in Sana’a, on Wednesday, condemned the targeting of the historical “Al-Qashla” Castle in Jabal Nuqom, east of the capital, by American airstrikes, considering that “this targeting is a flagrant aggression against Yemeni history and heritage.”
Sana’a – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The authority said that the American attack “caused serious damage to this venerable archaeological and historical landmark, which is one of the most prominent historical and architectural testimonies, with its national and cultural symbolism.”
The statement noted that “the Al-Qashla Castle is one of the historical symbols that embody the civilizational depth of Yemen,” calling on all international organizations concerned with the protection of human heritage to condemn this “blatant aggression” that targets the shared cultural heritage of humanity.
On Tuesday evening, American planes had targeted Jabal Nuqom with about 10 airstrikes, which led to the destruction of the historic Al-Qashla Castle located at the top of Jabal Nuqom.
