UN organizations: 420,000 displaced and the food crisis in Gaza is worsening

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Sunday that “more than 90,000 displaced people” are currently living in approximately 115 shelters across Gaza, noting that “approximately 420,000 people have been displaced again since the collapse of the ceasefire” in the Strip. The World Food Programme also confirmed that families in the Strip “don’t know where their next meal will come from,” in light of the stifling blockade that Israel has imposed on Gaza for nearly seven weeks.

UNRWA explained on its X platform account that “the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza is worsening as a result of the bombing and the ongoing blockade, which prohibits the entry of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies.”

Since March 2, Israel has continued to close the Gaza Strip’s crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical aid, and goods, causing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation for Palestinians, according to government, human rights, and international reports.
