Gaza Hospitals Director: We are experiencing a health and humanitarian catastrophe with the rising number of wounded and the lack of services

Dr. Mohammed Zaqout, Director of Hospitals at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, stated that the medical conditions in hospitals have reached catastrophic levels. This is due to the ongoing Israeli aggression, the intensification of shelling, and the closure of hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip after being targeted by the occupation forces. Other hospitals have also been targeted by Israeli ground operations in the northern Gaza Strip and damaged by shelling, threatening to completely halt their ability to provide health services to the wounded and sick.
The Director of Hospitals at the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed today that the escalation of Israeli shelling and massacres against Palestinian civilians across the Gaza Strip, along with the arrival of large numbers of wounded, most of whom are in critical and serious condition, exceeds the capacity and capabilities of medical teams and personnel in hospitals to deal with them.
This is in light of the severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies due to the Israeli occupation’s ban on their entry.
