UNRWA: six health centers operating in Gaza out of 22

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Tuesday that only six of its 22 health centers are operating inside and outside shelters due to the ongoing Israeli bombardment in Gaza.
UNRWA added that essential medical supplies are extremely scarce, and there is an urgent need for unhindered aid delivery.
This comes amid the stifling blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip, and the ongoing land, air, and sea bombardment targeting civilians, shelter schools, tents for displaced people, and hospitals.
Over the past two weeks, the occupation has committed 36 attacks on the health system in Gaza.
A Haaretz investigation also revealed that the Israeli army has unleashed systematic attacks on medical centers in the Gaza Strip during the current escalation.
The investigation stated that 10 hospitals and medical clinics in Gaza were subjected to Israeli attacks over the past week, completely or partially out of service, significantly increasing the pressure on what remains of the health system in Gaza.
The World Health Organization also announced that the ongoing Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip for years have pushed the health system to the brink of collapse. It noted that at least 94% of the Strip’s hospitals have been severely damaged or completely destroyed.
