British Newspaper: The US paid a heavy price in its attack on Yemen, which emerged stronger than before

Exclusive Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The British newspaper “International Banker” reported in a report published that the military campaign launched by the US against Yemen proved its political and military failure, as Washington was unable to achieve its goals despite the massive military spending that reached more than $1 billion in the first month alone.

The writer “Cary Springfeld” in this newspaper, which is considered a media platform specialized in international financial and banking analysis, explained that the US forces were unable to impose their air control over Yemen, and did not stop the attacks of Ansar Allah on the ships linked to “Israel”, despite targeting 800 military sites during the operation that began on March 15, 2025 under the name “Rough Knight,” and the US forces announced that they had killed hundreds of Houthi leaders, but they did not provide any evidence of that, rather it became clear that the operations carried out by the American fighters jets targeted civilians, resulting in the death of hundreds of them, including African refugees.

The report added that the Ansar Allah group continued to target commercial and military ships heading to “Israel,” forcing vessels to change their routes and increasing the cost of global shipping, which prompted Washington to intervene militarily directly through a wide-ranging bombing campaign. However, the US military losses were large, as they lost seven MQ-9 drones, in addition to two F-18 fighters, which constituted an additional economic burden on the US.

The report indicated that US President Donald Trump launched a major military operation against Yemen in an attempt to force Ansar Allah to stop their attacks, but after weeks of intense bombing, the campaign did not achieve its goals, which prompted the White House on May 5, 2025, to issue an order to stop offensive operations.

In this context, the report quoted the political researcher “Charles William Waldorf” that the American strikes did not lead to the undermining of Ansar Allah’s capabilities, but on the contrary strengthened their political and military position in Yemen, as the attacks on Israeli ships continued, and the military pressure led to a reshaping of the balance of power in the region.

The newspaper concluded that the American military intervention in Yemen was costly and strategically failed, as it did not achieve its military objectives, while the US incurred massive financial losses and weakened its influence in the Middle East at a time when Yemen strengthened its military and political position in the face of Western powers.
