The calmness of the Houthis provokes America

On Saturday, the US resumed escalation in the Yemen file amid fears of calm and anticipation of American involvement in the war against Iran.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The US Treasury issued a new wave of sanctions on companies, individuals, and ships.

The new list included about 4 individuals, 12 entities, and two ships… The US administration accused these parties of contributing to the oil trade for what it described as the “Houthis.”

The new package of sanctions, although it will not make a fundamental change in the context of the US war on Yemen, which has reached, during the past months, the largest confrontation in the modern era, its timing carries dimensions related to the confrontation with Iran.

In this context, US media outlets revealed American concern about the unusual calmness of what they described as the “Houthis.”

The Wall Street Journal quoted US officials as saying that the analyses suggest that the “Houthis’” silence may be the calm before the storm, describing the calmness in the Red Sea as unusual, especially in light of the Israeli-Iranian confrontations.

Although the US had previously issued dozens of lists of sanctions and failed to stop the operations supporting Gaza, the timing of the latter, according to experts, is an attempt to take the pulse of Yemen, especially with the anticipated American involvement in the war on Iran.

The Yemeni front represents the most dangerous for the Americans, who have resumed the deployment of battleships in the Red Sea amid fears of sinking them.
