HR organizations warn the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation of possible complicity in war crimes

Fifteen human rights organizations warned the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation of potential complicity in war crimes in Gaza and called for an end to its chaotic and deadly operations.

In an open letter, the organizations said that “this new model of aid distribution” by a private, armed entity “represents a radical and dangerous shift from established international humanitarian operations.” They condemned what they described as an “inhumane and deadly” system.

They called on all parties and individuals who have supported or are supporting the organization’s work at distribution centers to cease its operations.

They warned that failure to do so would expose these organizations, their officials, representatives, and agents to criminal and civil liability for complicity in crimes under international law, including war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide, and violations of international law, US law, and other international law.

The signatories to the open letter include the International Federation for Human Rights, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, the American Center for Constitutional Rights, and the International Commission of Jurists.
