The health and humanitarian conditions in Gaza have reached a “catastrophic stage

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned that the health and humanitarian situation in the Strip has reached a “catastrophic stage” as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression, backed by the United States, and the worsening blockade imposed on the health system.
The ministry said in a press release that “the occupation continues to prevent the entry of emergency medical supplies, which threatens to completely shut down the remaining hospitals in light of the unprecedented crises.”
The ministry explained that hospitals are suffering from severe overcrowding, exceeding their capacity, especially in the inpatient and intensive care units, amid an increase in critical injuries that exceed the capacity of emergency and surgical units.
Only 45 operating rooms out of 312 are operating, with limited capacity that does not allow for complex and emergency surgeries.
