An investigative report by The Guardian exposes Microsoft’s involvement in the crimes of genocide against Palestinians

The British newspaper The Guardian published an important investigative report highlighting the involvement of the largest Western tech companies in the genocide crimes being perpetrated by the Israeli enemy army in Gaza and against the Palestinian people in general.

Exclusive Follow-ups and Translations – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Guardian’s investigation, published on the evening of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, reveals that Unit 8200 of the Israeli enemy army relied on Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure to process an enormous amount of data related to Palestinians, amounting to up to one million calls per hour.

According to the investigation, this data includes calls, messages, and sensitive information about Palestinians; it was noted that this information was directly used to prepare target lists for aggressive airstrikes that destroyed residential neighborhoods and killed thousands of Palestinians, which human rights organizations considered “direct participation” in the war crimes and genocide being committed by the Israeli enemy today in Gaza.

The investigation also reveals direct cooperation between engineers from Microsoft, including individuals who previously worked in Unit 8200, and teams from the Israeli enemy army aimed at developing an intelligence platform with immense surveillance capabilities to be part of the aggression system against Gaza and the West Bank.

The Guardian’s investigation confirmed that this role amounts to what it called “indirect participation” in the execution of genocide crimes, as it enabled the Israeli enemy army to track and target Palestinians on a wide scale.

The investigation concluded that this scandal raises sharp ethical questions about the commitment of Western tech companies to human rights and the necessity of holding them accountable for their role in grave violations against peoples.
