The occupation is committing “health genocide”

Gaza Health Director, Munir Al-Bursh, warns of “healthy genocide” and the collapse of the medical system: 23 out-of-service hospitals, severe medicine shortages, amputations without anesthesia, and famine threatens to die 500 people per day.

With a body exhausted by long working hours, lack of food, and the pressure of the war of extermination, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, continues to manage the remaining hospitals in the Gaza Strip, warning that the Israeli occupation committed what he described. With the “health genocide” that affected the entire medical sector. In an interview with TRT Arabic, Al-Bursh painted a bleak picture of the reality of hospitals and medical staff; Doctors drop during malnutrition, food not exceeding 200 grams of rice per day, and meals that doctors give in to their children and families. At the same time, the occupation continues to target health cadres with murder and arrest, and prevents the wounded and sick from their most basic rights to treatment. These testimonies reveal the extent of the tragedy that has gone beyond the limits of any usual humanitarian crisis; A paralyzed health system, severe medical shortage, out-of-service hospitals, hundreds of thousands of wounded without treatment, and children facing starvation and food insecurity. As every day, the sector is approaching the brink of complete collapse, in a scene that threatens the death of hundreds of people daily, unless the international community immediately moves to stop the war and open the crossings to bring in medical and humanitarian aid.

In his statements to TRT, Al-Bursh revealed the tragic conditions experienced by doctors in Gaza, saying that some of them fell during surgeries as a result of malnutrition, while their food is limited to one meal per day containing less than 200 grams of rice, and there are not even Dishes to put food in. He pointed out that some doctors send this meal to their children and wives without eating anything, warning that malnutrition and famine prevent doctors from being able to work for long hours, up to 24 hours.
