Israeli Officer: Israel’s losses due to the Yemeni naval blockade amount to billions
In a remarkable statement on Channel 14, the channel close to Netanyahu, a retired Israeli officer acknowledged the extent of the concern the entity is experiencing due to the escalating Yemeni capabilities in the Red Sea, confirming that this strategic threat exceeds all previous military estimates.
Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The officer explained during his participation in an analytical program that the Yemenis have succeeded in imposing a new reality after managing to disrupt navigation in one of the most important maritime passages, which has directly impacted the Israeli economy.
He pointed out that the Yemeni military capabilities have demonstrated a will and determination that surprised the security establishment in the entity and proved that Yemen is no longer a limited regional threat but rather a force capable of changing the strategic equations in the region.
The officer admitted that the economic losses incurred by the occupation due to the disruption of navigation in the Red Sea have amounted to billions of dollars as result of faltering shipping operations, late arrival of goods, and the compulsion of Israeli and international companies to seek alternative, longer, and more costly routes.
He also confirmed that the effects are not limited to the economic aspect only but include political and military dimensions, as the Red Sea has transformed from a safe passageway into a point of weakness threatening the entity’s vital interests.
He emphasized that the Yemeni threat has become a real strategic dilemma, representing an escalating security challenge, noting that the Israeli naval measures and American and Western support have not succeeded in containing it so far.
The officer concluded by saying that the continuation of the Yemeni operations places the occupation before an existential test on both the economic and security levels, at a time when the confrontation is also expanding on the Gaza and Lebanon fronts.
