Euro-Mediterranean: Israel continues to use starvation as a tool of genocide

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory said that the threat of famine did not leave the Gaza Strip, as aid continued to be reduced, which reflects Israel’s insistence on using starvation as a tool for genocide.
In a statement, on Tuesday, the observatory stated that the limited quantities of goods and aid that were allowed to enter the Gaza Strip represent only a small part of the actual needs.
He added, “We are very concerned about the Israeli threat to reduce humanitarian aid and not to open the Rafah crossing, under the pretext that the bodies of Israeli deaths will not be released.” He pointed out that “Israel” allowed the introduction of only 173 aid trucks over two days, after the ceasefire last Friday.
He said that no trucks were allowed to enter on Monday under the pretext of the release of Palestinian detainees, nor was it allowed to enter today under the pretext of Jewish holidays.
The observatory stressed that Israel’s control of the amount of aid and its failure to implement the ceasefire agreement means that it will continue to commit the crime of genocide, stressing that the introduction of humanitarian aid is not a privilege granted by “Israel”, but rather an irreplaceable legal duty.
He continued, “Aid should be provided in accordance with the principle of impartiality and purely humanitarian needs, without discrimination, delay or selectivity.” The observatory called for a final cessation of all military operations and an immediate and comprehensive lifting of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, calling for international guarantees to prevent the re-imposition of the siege or obstruction of aid under any pretext.
