The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the Israeli war of extermination since October 2023 has risen to “67,938 martyrs and 170,169 wounded.”
In its daily statistical report, the ministry said that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received “25 martyrs and 35 wounded” over the past 24 hours.
It added that “16 of the martyrs were recovered,” indicating that they were killed in recent days or weeks, while another died of previous wounds.
The ministry did not clarify the circumstances of the eight Palestinian deaths or the injuries, despite the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel that has been in effect since Friday.
In its statement, the ministry spoke of a number of victims under the rubble and in the streets, where ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach them at this time.
She noted that she had received the bodies of 45 Palestinian martyrs who had been held by the occupation, noting that they remained unidentified and had not been added to the cumulative statistics of the number of martyrs.
