The Executive Mine Action Center in Sana’a carried out an operation to destroy 290 mines left over from the war of the Saudi-Emirati coalition and its factions, north of Kilo 16 in Hudaydah city.
Hudaydah – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The Executive Director of the Center, Brigadier General Ali Safra, explained that “the operation included three consecutive explosions, during which 200 anti-personnel mines and 90 anti-vehicle mines were destroyed,” pointing out that these remnants “were collected from the areas of Al-Zaafaran, Al-Sharaf Al-A’la, Al-Sharaf Al-Asfal, and Al-Masna in Al-Durayhimi district.”
For his part, the Deputy Governor of Hudaydah for Services Affairs, Mohammed Halisi, affirmed that “these efforts come within as part of ongoing humanitarian work to secure affected areas and facilitate the safe return of citizens to their homes and farms.”
It is worth mentioning that this operation, carried out with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross, comes as a continuation of previous field efforts, during which 300 mines were destroyed in the Manthr area in mid-October last year.
