Israeli warplanes escalated their attacks on various areas in the Gaza Strip early Thursday morning, launching heavy airstrikes targeting the north, center, and south of the territory, in yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
One Palestinian was killed and several others were wounded by Israeli fire in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Eyewitnesses reported that strong explosions were heard, resulting from Israeli air strikes that affected areas east of Gaza City, in the northern Gaza Strip, in addition to the central governorate, and the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. Witnesses explained that the raids targeted areas within the control of the Israeli army, coinciding with intense artillery shelling that targeted several sites east of Gaza City, and heavy gunfire from military helicopters. At sea, the Israeli gunboats intensified their machine gun fire off the coast of Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, causing a state of concern among the residents.
