Hamas: The role of the Palestinian journalist will remain stronger than the bullets of the occupation.

Hamas called for the prosecution and accountability of Israeli leaders for their crimes against Palestinian journalists, asserting that the genocidal war on Gaza revealed Israel to be the most prominent and dangerous enemy of the press and journalists, as they were the voice and image exposing its crimes and massacres.

In a statement marking Palestinian Journalists’ Day (December 31), the movement said that journalists were the means of exposing Israel’s false narrative and its propaganda.

It affirmed that the role of the Palestinian journalist “will remain stronger than the bullets of the occupation,” emphasizing that Israel’s continued targeting of journalists will not succeed in silencing their voices.

Since launching its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2013, Israel has sought to control the narrative surrounding the war through a series of unprecedented measures, such as assassinating Palestinian journalists, attacking media facilities, and banning them.

The Government Media Office in Gaza recorded the deaths of 257 journalists during the genocidal war and the ceasefire agreement that has been in place for approximately two months and 20 days. Hamas called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to continue their work in exposing and condemning Israeli crimes against Palestinian journalists, and to take urgent action to prosecute the perpetrators before international courts.
