Human rights organization: Genocide in Gaza continues, ceasefire is a cover for expanding military control

The Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem asserted that the genocide in the Gaza Strip has not ceased, despite the passage of three months since the ceasefire agreement came into effect. The organization noted that the Israeli army has expanded its control within the Strip, in blatant violation of the agreement’s provisions.
In a position paper published Saturday, B’Tselem stated that the killing, bombing, and expansion of Israeli control over most of Gaza continue unabated, alongside widespread destruction of infrastructure and obstruction of humanitarian work. This has exacerbated the crises of displacement, hunger, and malnutrition, particularly among children and women.
The report, titled “90 Days Since the Ceasefire Came into Effect in Gaza: The Genocide Is Not Over,” emphasizes that, despite a limited improvement in food availability, living conditions remain precarious, as the international community continues to ignore the ongoing genocide and destruction behind the guise of a ceasefire.
According to the organization’s estimates, since the agreement came into effect, the occupation forces have continued aerial and artillery bombardment and live fire throughout the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 422 Palestinians and the injury of 1,189 others.
