The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah, in cooperation with international organizations, announced the delivery of 61 essential medical devices to hospitals in the Gaza Strip and the Arab National Hospital.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Ministry confirmed that this step is part of urgent interventions to support the health system and improve hospitals’ ability to respond to the urgent and increasing needs of patients and the wounded.
The Ministry indicated that the delivery of these devices will contribute to raising the efficiency of medical staff, enhancing the quality of treatment services provided, and supporting emergency response efforts, thus helping to save lives and mitigate the deterioration of the overall health situation.
The delivered devices included sterilization equipment, intensive care ventilators, patient monitors, and other vital medical equipment used in operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency departments.
The World Health Organization had previously announced that only 50% of health facilities in the Gaza Strip are partially operational, amidst a severe shortage of medicines and medical equipment needed for hospitals to function.
The Ministry explained that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is extremely fragile. Due to the destruction of infrastructure, the collapse of livelihoods, the decline in food production, and restrictions on relief as a result of the genocidal war, over the course of two full years.
