The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that children in the Gaza Strip continue to live in dire conditions due to the restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation forces on the entry of humanitarian aid.
In a post on its official social media account on Saturday, the UN agency stated that “children in the Gaza Strip should feel warm, well-nourished, and safe enough to look forward to their future.”
The agency highlighted the urgent need for humanitarian aid that is stuck outside the Gaza Strip due to the restrictions imposed by the occupation.
UNRWA said that, like other relief organizations, it “continues its work and is ready to expand its assistance,” stressing the need for “the immediate lifting of all restrictions on aid.”
Earlier on Saturday, Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said in a statement that the current storm affecting the Strip has caused thousands of tents belonging to displaced people to be blown away and damaged. He emphasized that this crisis is a direct result of Israel preventing the entry of building materials and obstructing reconstruction efforts.
