Former Doctors Without Borders President, the Gaza war broke all records

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip broke all the records of wars, including killing, destruction, starvation and displacement, in a narrow geographical area, with unparalleled fire density and over two years without interruption. Doctors Without Borders is a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, about four months after the ceasefire. The certificate of Broman is the testimony of a physician who has engaged in humanitarian work about fifty years ago (in 1977), as he performed many tasks, especially in the context of population displacement and armed conflicts, from Ethiopia to Sudan to Pakistan to Honduras, as well as in Thailand. Djibouti, Cambodia, Rwanda, Chad, Uganda and others. Thus, it is sufficient to denote the meaning of his testimony. He presided over “MSF” from 1982 to 1994. He also taught at the Institute for Humanitarian Response and Dispute at the University of Manchester (UK) and at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, and has books, including: “Human Wars? Lies and Misinformation (2018), “Human Medicine” (2010), “Thinking of Emergencies” (2006), and “Health Utopia” (2000).

Many of us believed our days in Gaza and the West Bank were numbered, and this day has come, which was hardly surprising, as the Israelis have been threatening to prevent us from working for so long. They have also killed hundreds of our colleagues working in the humanitarian field in Gaza. But if this decision isn’t surprising, it is a shameful and scandalous one. It means that Israel will only tolerate humanitarian workers if they implement its policies, remain silent about what they witness, and work only where the Israelis direct them. In other words, they want humanitarian work in the Palestinian territories to be subject to their political logic, which aims to suffocate and exhaust the Palestinian people. They are trying to do the opposite of what humanitarian workers strive to do. It has become clear that the international reaction to this abhorrent Israeli decision has been very weak, both in Europe, where most of the targeted humanitarian organizations are based, and in the Arab world, which does not provide sufficient support to the Palestinians.
