Israeli forces have escalated their operations in the occupied West Bank, launching a widespread arrest campaign targeting dozens of Palestinians. This coincides with demolition orders issued for homes and structures in the vicinity of occupied Jerusalem, a policy Palestinians say aims to “impose new facts on the ground.”
In Ramallah, the Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the Israeli army arrested at least 30 Palestinians from various West Bank governorates, including occupied Jerusalem, between Monday evening and Tuesday morning during ongoing raids and incursions.
The club explained that the arrests included a number of released prisoners, among them Zahra Khadraj and her daughter Yaqin, as well as a woman from Qalandiya refugee camp. The arrests took place in Jenin, Nablus, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Ramallah, and Jerusalem.

The statement indicated that the pace of arrests and field investigations has witnessed an unprecedented escalation since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip in October 2013. It considered these campaigns to be part of a policy of “collective punishment” targeting various segments of Palestinian society, particularly prisoners released in prisoner exchange deals.
In occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli army issued demolition orders for 11 homes and structures in the town of Hizma, northeast of the city, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The Governorate explained that the notices included seven homes and four structures located at the town’s entrance.
The Governorate added that Israeli forces gave the homeowners a specific deadline to evacuate before the demolitions are carried out. It noted that the town of Hizma is subjected to frequent incursions, including raids on homes and the conversion of some into temporary military barracks, which exacerbates the suffering of the residents and restricts their movement.
