Following his dismissal and the dissolution of his forces… The most prominent leaders of Emirati factions arrive in Aden amid indications of new confrontations

Tension overshadowed Aden on Tuesday, as Saudi Arabia implemented security changes aimed at eradicating the remnants of factions loyal to the UAE in southern Yemen.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Jalal Al-Rubaie, the commander of the Security Belt, arrived in the city coming from Saudi Arabia. Al-Rubaie’s return comes amidst developments targeting his most powerful security factions.

The Minister of Interior in the Aden government, who is affiliated with Al-Islah, issued a series of decisions targeting southern factions that formed a prominent arm of the Transitional Council. The most prominent of these factions is what is now known as the “National Security” (formerly the “Security Belt”), which is led by Al-Rubaie.

The decisions include dissolving the “Security Belt,” merging it into what is known as the “Special Security Forces,” and appointing a prominent commander named Abdul Salam Al-Jamali to lead it. Al-Jamali is a former leader of the conference loyal to Saleh and recently served as an advisor to Al-Muharrami upon the recommendation of Tariq Saleh.

The timing of Al-Rubaie’s return suggests his rejection of the new decisions and the possibility of him leading a new rebellion, especially since his return coincided with the Transitional Council mobilizing a new demonstration in Aden targeting the new government.

It is noteworthy that Al-Rubaie was the most prominent opponent of the Saudi arrangements and led extensive campaigns against them in the early days following the Transitional Council’s downfall. He was smuggled to Saudi Arabia after being accused of plotting an assassination attempt against the commander of the Giants Brigades, Hamdi Shukri, a card used by Saudi Arabia to subdue him.
