Bloomberg: The Israeli entity considers establishing a base in Somaliland to confront Yemen

The Bloomberg agency revealed on Wednesday arrangements and studies within the Israeli occupation entity about the possibility of establishing a military base in the “Somaliland” region overlooking the Gulf of Aden, in a step aimed at confronting Sana’a forces “Ansar Allah” in Yemen.

Exclusive Translation – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

According to the Bloomberg report, the proposed site for the base is located near the entrance to the Red Sea, providing Israel with a strategic location allowing it to monitor one of the most important global trade passages, in addition to geographically approaching Yemen and carrying out attacks against “Ansar Allah.”

According to the newspaper, the “Israeli” entity’s move comes amid escalating regional tension related to the war on Iran, as the entity views “Sana’a” as one of Iran’s most prominent allies in the region and considers that having a base close to Yemen could grant it a greater ability to monitor military movements and carry out swift operations if necessary.

Potential Repercussions:

In contrast, observers warn that this step could increase the intensity of military tension in the Red Sea, especially in light of warnings from Sana’a forces that any Israeli military facility in the region—particularly in Somaliland—could become a direct target for them.

This development comes at a time when the Red Sea is witnessing an escalation in military competition and influence among several regional and international powers, reinforcing the region’s importance as one of the most sensitive maritime passages in the world.
