A new blow to Trump… Two strategic allies announce their categorical refusal to send their navies against Iran

Exclusive Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Australia and Japan announced today their refusal to send naval forces to participate in the American coalition to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz, a new blow to the Trump administration’s efforts to form an international coalition to confront Iran.

Reuters news agency reported that Australia will not send warships to the strait, confirming that Canberra will not participate militarily in any move against Iran.

For her part, the Japanese prime minister announced that Japan is not currently planning to send its navy to the Middle East to escort ships, a position reflecting a trend towards direct negotiation with Tehran rather than engaging in the military confrontation.

These developments come after American reports revealed that countries that were asked for assistance prefer to negotiate safe passages directly with Iran, bypassing American pressure, in an indication of the erosion of the Western coalition and declining confidence in Washington’s policies in the region.
