Iranian Atomic Energy: Targeting the “Yellowcake” plant is a violation of the immunity of nuclear facilities

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran affirmed that the American-Israeli attack on the “Yellowcake” plant in the city of Ardakan in Yazd province constitutes a “flagrant violation” of the immunity of peaceful nuclear facilities.

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The organization explained that the targeting affects the supply chain for reactor fuel and nuclear medicine, affirming that the Iranian nuclear program is “peaceful in nature” and that military attacks will not stop it.

The International Atomic Energy Agency had previously announced that it had received a notification from Iran that the facility had been attacked.

In context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned in a letter to the UN of the danger of targeting nuclear facilities subject to international safeguards agreements.

The organization also criticized what it described as the “silence” of the International Atomic Energy Agency, considering that it harms its credibility, in light of repeated attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, including Bushehr, Natanz, and Isfahan.
