Confrontations renew in Hormuz | - dailyyemen

Confrontations renewed in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, despite anticipation of the signing of an American-Iranian agreement.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a ship was attacked this morning in the Arabian Sea.

According to the authority, the ship was targeted by a projectile, whose direction it didn’t specify.

Although the strait has witnessed several attacks in the last three months, some of which were carried out by the US, the latest attack is a notable development given the anticipation of an agreement being signed between Tehran and Washington.

The attack is not the only one, and it came amid American confirmation of renewed confrontations with Iranian forces.

US Central Command clarified in a statement on its official page that Iranian forces launched a widespread drone attack, claiming to have shot down some of them.

The behind-the-scenes of what is happening are not yet clear, but its timing reflects the continuation of the state of tension despite news from diplomatic basements that the two parties have reached an agreement that is expected to be signed in the coming hours.
