Tehran Condemns the Bombing of Sana’a Airport and Considers It a Flagrant Violation of International Law and Absolutely Unacceptable

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned on Monday evening the Saudi raids that targeted Sana’a International Airport, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a serious assault on Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Tehran – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Iranian Foreign Ministry explained in a statement that targeting the airport completely contradicts all regional and international efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in Yemen and sharply contradicts the 2022 ceasefire agreement.

The statement indicated that the assault on a civilian facility and airport, and the deliberate threat to the safety and security of a civilian passenger aircraft, constitutes a grave breach of international laws governing civil aviation, and is completely unacceptable. Tehran renewed its affirmation of the Islamic Republic’s readiness to provide all forms of assistance and support to advance the political process and ensure the success of the roadmap in Yemen.

This Iranian diplomatic stance came after Saudi warplanes launched a series of airstrikes targeting Sana’a International Airport, coinciding with the return of a Yemeni delegation from the capital Tehran, a step considered by the Sana’a Foreign Ministry as an official “declaration of war.”
