Iranian Army: The Strait of Hormuz Will Remain Closed Until Washington Adheres to the Memorandum of Understanding and Iranian Law


The spokesman for the Iranian army stated on Tuesday that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is conditional on the United States’ adherence to the memorandum of understanding and its acceptance of the legal system imposed by Iran on navigation in the strait.

The spokesman added that Iranian forces confronted what he described as an “illegal passage” established by the American side south of the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that ships that violated Iranian laws regulating navigation were targeted.

He affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States accepts the Iranian legal system in the strait, according to his statements.
