Palestinian Center for the Defense of Prisoners affirmed that the continued detention of Palestinian doctors in Israeli prisons constitutes a compound crime, and that their suffering under conditions of isolation, starvation, and denial of family visits and medical treatment necessitates their immediate release and international protection.
In a statement issued, Thursday, the Center said, “The detained Palestinian doctors are subjected to harsh and inhumane conditions, including being prevented from communicating with their families, mistreatment, and medical neglect, as part of a retaliatory policy
targeting medical personnel who remained with the wounded and sick.”
