Iranian warning to Saudi Arabia: The attack on Sana’a airport must not be repeated, and we don’t recognize an air ban on Yemen

The Iranian Foreign Ministry refused to recognize any restrictions imposed on air traffic in Yemen, affirming that targeting Sana’a International Airport constitutes a violation of Yemeni sovereignty, and that such attacks must not be repeated.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, stated that Tehran considers the imposition of an air blockade or sanctions on peoples to be illegitimate, explaining that the Iranian aircraft that arrived in Sana’a was on a mission to transport a Yemeni delegation that had participated in memorial ceremonies inside Iran, along with returning Yemeni wounded who had completed their treatment there.

Baghaei pointed out that his country had previously condemned the attack on Sana’a Airport, considering that targeting civilian facilities under any pretext violates the principles of respecting state sovereignty, calling on the international community to condemn what he described as the aggressions on Yemen and civilian facilities.
